Minors arrested in gun burglary | News
NORMAN PARK, GA (WALB) - Two Colquitt County boys are charged with stealing thousands of dollars worth of guns from a neighbor.
Police say 17-year old Brandon Lawhorne and an 11-year old boy stole about $4,500 worth of high powered rifles, shotguns, and pistols from Keller Betcher's home on East Gate Circle Monday.
Most of the weapons were found behind Lawhorne's house, which is just down the street.
"The sheriff's office contacted the homeowner at which time when they got home they noticed their house had been burglarized. The witnesses to it positively identified Brandon Lawhorne who is 17 years of age and also an 11-year old juvenile as being the offenders on it," said Lt. Shannon Hart.
Lawhorne remains in jail, while the 11-year old boy was released.
Both are charged with burglary.
